We all know that the future is in robotics and robots will be able to easily perform most of the functions that humans are currently doing. Therefore, when 22-year-old Pratik Tirodkar designed an interactive humanoid robot, it won many hearts.
Smart City Presentation
Pratik Tirodkar recently displayed his humanoid robot to officials of Thane Municipal Corporation(TMC) in Mumbai. Tirodkar, who completed engineering in instrumentation and spent the last four years designing robots was invited by the TMC to participate in the smart city presentation. The Israeli Consul general Yaakov Finkelstein and a group of Israeli students were also present at the event.
Interactive Humanoid Robot
Tirodkar designed an interactive humanoid robot with limited pre-programmed functions that can serve as assistants in offices. He has also developed a compact 24-inch tall robot that can be programmed to act as a yoga instructor or narrate stories to children. The bots that are made up of fibre, plywood and metal can also serve many other purposes like waiters, dance instructors or for other commercial purposes.
Tirodkar who runs a start-up intends to make low budget robots that are equally efficient and sophisticated like the ones developed by international firms.
