Prakash Agarwal is a role model for all those who have been dealt a blow by fate and are finding it tough to overcome the situation.
A chartered accountant by profession, Prakash Agarwal is an individual of exemplary courage and resilience. He encountered very difficult situations in life, but he rose like a phoenix to do great things in life.
In 2012, Agarwal fell from the 14th floor of a building. His fall was broken by the ducts that lessened the impact, but to everyone’s surprise, he just dusted himself and walked to the hospital for treatment. He did have many broken bones and his doctor declared that he would never walk again. Not one to be let down, Agarwal by the sheer strength of his will, not only began to walk but also ran races.
When things were beginning to look normal, he was diagnosed with stage 3 of lymphoma cancer. He battled it out with the solid support of his wife and in less than a year, he was up and running despite undergoing five-day chemotherapy sessions and 22 radiation cycles.
Prakash Agarwal ran his first half marathon in 2017. He clocked an impressive 1.52 for the 21-km distance. For a man who had survived a 60-foot fall and life-threatening cancer, this certainly is a rare feat. He then raised the bar and completed the 42.2 km marathon n 2018. This year, on Independence Day, Agarwal will run the Mumbai Ultra marathon which is a 12-hour run.
There is no doubt that Agarwal’s never say die spirit and optimism will definitely help him achieve his dreams.
