How would you feel if life pushes you to an extent from where finding a way out seems difficult? Will you quit or think of crossing the obstacle at any cost? Meet Kalpana Saroj, who decided to break free from every hindrance when life became unfair to her.

Kalpana’s immense resolution has today made her resilient, independent, and strong. She was born in a village in Maharashtra called, Roperkheda and was married at a tender age (12). However, the marriage did not sustain as she was tortured physically by her ex-husband and his family.

After a lot of hardships, she finally moved to Mumbai at the age of 16 and from there, things slowly started taking a different turn for her. Kalpana worked at a garment factory after shifting to the city and eventually came up with her furniture store and tailoring business.

As days passed by, she started achieving a lot more. Kalpana created a name in the real estate industry. Her class apart skills gained her a lot of recognition and something incredible happened once she got associated with Kamani Tubes. The company got back to life and started making profits.

Kalpana was conferred with the Padma Shri award for her contribution in the field of trade and industry. She was also felicitated with Nari Shakti Puraskar this year.

Women like Kalpana tell us why it is essential to surpass every hurdle and start a new life all over again. The past might be rocky and unjust but, the steering is in our hands to take life to a better direction and choose a perfect path for the journey ahead.
