Karanbir Singh, 17 belonging to Galuwal village in Amritsar was a saviour for the school children. On September 20th, 2016 when a bus fell into a drain in Mahawa village near the Indo- Pak border, Karanbir came to rescue.
Karanbir with his bravery and daring made his way and saved the lives of 15 out of 22 children. The bus which fell into the drain after speeding had the bridge wall which led to this accident.
Helping the children come out safe from the water filled bus, Karanbir showed great courage and responsibility. Doing such a noble act, bravely facing all the challenges all alone surely caught the eye of authorities.
Karanbir was chosen for the National Bravery Awards this year and has also been picked for the Sanjay Chopra Award.
