Abhay Agarwal who is only 15 years of age, managed to clear the JEE Advanced and has been allotted a seat at IITBHU after scoring 2467 All India Rank making him probably the youngest person to enroll at an IIT.
Usually, students prepare for their class X boards at the age of 15, but Abhay was the youngest teenager at IIT-Kanpur who was verifying his documents for admission.
Staff members of IIT Kanpur were surprised to know the age of the young boy and so was the Vice-chairman of IIT-JEE Kanpur zone Prof Shalabh, who was pleased to meet the boy. A staffer said that Abhay could be the youngest to join IIT as his Std Xth mark sheet confirms his age as 15 and a half years.
Having been keenly interested in robotics, Abhay wants to pursue mechanical engineering. He said that he was able to jump initial classes and therefore, could complete his XII before other students.
His proud father Mukesh Agarwal who works as a pump attendant at Firozabad Nagar Nigam praised his son as a talented boy with high capabilities.
The teenager is very disciplined in his approach towards his studies and stayed away from social media while preparing for the competition. His aim is to launch a start up which deals with robotics products.
