They say impossible is nothing. Achieving a particular dream becomes easier if our will power stays intact. 36-year-old Jessica Cox never doubted her abilities and with an optimistic approach towards life, she became the world’s first pilot without arms.
Jessica was born with a rare birth defect, she used her prosthetic arms for 11 years and soon after that, she stopped using them because she preferred doing everything with her feet. Her parents were a huge source of support. They never differentiated her with other kids as she was enrolled in a normal school and not in an institution for specially disabled children.
36-year-old Jessica is not just a certified pilot but, she also has other talents. While talking about the same with CNN, she said: “Other than being a pilot I am a certified scuba diver, I have learned how to surf, I am a cyclist, I love to swim.” She is also the first armless black belt holder in the American Taekwondo Association and has traveled to 23 countries as a speaker. In 2004, she flew for the first time in a single engine aircraft.
Jessica’s determination teaches us that we must embrace each other to become our best selves.
