India celebrates it's Republic Day every year on the 26th January to mark the day when the Constitution came into force in 1950. This year is the 69th year of India being a republic country.
Every year India witnesses the parade that takes place at the India Gate. This day is celebrated with a lot of patriotism, joy and pride.
The parade will showcase India's culture and heritage and will portray the beauty of our country. For the first time ever, this R-Day parade will be attended by 10 heads of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN).
This year's parade will not only see participants from the Indian Army, Air Force, Navy but will also showcase over 700 students across the guest countries performing at the event. 27 Border Security Force(BSF) women personnel will present acrobats and stunts on the Royal Enfield for the very first time in history.
Another event,"Bharat Parv" is being organized from 26th January to 31st January at the Red Fort to promote the rich cultural diversity and to ensure more public participation for the same.
The R-Day parade will also display every states unique culture and heritage via tableaus which will be full of colour and a treat to every individual. Giving farmers a voice, this year, the government's research institute ICAR will for the very first time participate in the parade with a model showcasing integrated farming as key for increasing the farmer's income.
Various awards will be announced on the eve of R-Day, such as Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri. The awards will be given from people belonging to different streams of arts, science, sports, medicine, social work, public affairs, etc.
A total of 795 Police personnel have been awarded medals on this occasion. Eighteen children including seven girls have also been selected for the National Bravery Awards 2017. They would also be participating in the Republic Day parade at Rajpath.
This Republic Day let's pledge to be a better citizen and help the nation to build a good future for the generations to come.
