It is said that the world is a book and those who don't travel read only one page. Without travel, life becomes monotonous and it becomes necessary to take a break and explore the world around us. As people are beginning to realize this, they are making more plans to travel. This trend has given a boost to India's tourism industry.
India is blessed with a diverse culture, a large coastline and abundant natural resources. Jammu and Kashmir in North India is known as the Paradise of India for its snow-capped mountains, serene valleys and scenic beauty. The world famous Taj Mahal in Agra is a visual delight. People throng to places of pilgrimage like Char Dham, Allahabad, Varanasi, Mathura and Haridwar. The states of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh house the famous Hill Stations like Spiti, Kuulu, Manali, Shimla, Mussoorie, Nainital etc.
The North Eastern states have some important national parks like Kaziranga National Park, Namdapha National Park and so on. The seven sister states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura need to be explored more. They are rich in rain forests which support diverse flora and fauna.
Similarly, in the West, we have the 'Gateway of India ' in India's financial capital Mumbai. Goa, which is a tiny emerald on the west coast of India has long beaches along the Arabian Sea and is a major tourist spot. Rajasthan is a charming state with important cities like Udaipur which is also called the 'City of Lakes' and Jaipur which also goes by the name of ' Pink City'.
Known as the ' Venice of the East', Alleppey in Kerala with its backwaters and floating houseboats is one of the most beautiful places to visit in South India. The Jog waterfalls and Hampi in Karnataka are a treat to the eye. Ooty, Munnar and Tekdi with its abundant greenery leaves us spellbound.
The list of places will go on and never cease as India is a magical land with mesmerising beauty. From snow-capped mountains to golden deserts to the blue seas and green forests, we needn't leave our country to experience all these wonders as all of these exist in India in its majestic splendour. We only need to take out time and plan to explore our country India, which is truly incredible. Therefore, travel as often as you can. As the saying goes- 'Travelling leaves you speechless, and then turns you into a storyteller'
