In a bid to woo Egyptian travellers and boost tourism in India, the Indian Ambassador to Egypt, Sanjay Bhattacharya and Governor of Cairo, Atef Abdel Hamid, jointly launched the Incredible India campaign in Cairo. The purpose of the campaign is to raise awareness of the various facets of India and inform the Average Egyptian traveller how beautiful India is as a country.
The campaign will see 12 buses of the Transport Authority of Cairo, showcasing various tourist destinations from India in order to attract more tourists to India. The buses will showcase various aspects of India such as wildlife, natural resources, culture, festivals etc. and each bus will showcase two themes accordingly. Sanjay Bhattacharya said, “We have launched this campaign so that people around the city can see a different part of India and its tourists delight. We are very keen to have greater tourism exchanges between India and Egypt.”
As a follow-up of this campaign, the Indian Embassy organised the Incredible India roadshow at Hotel Semiramis International yesterday. Before this, the Indian Embassy had launched the ‘Make in India’ campaign at the metro stations in Cairo where posters were put up in order to raise awareness.
