Age is just a number. A group of young children proved this adage to be true as they went on to achieve a great feat. When they came to know about the disappearance of a senior person of their community, they got together to track the elder.
97-year-old Glenneta Belford, a non-verbal woman with dementia went missing from her home in Roseville, California. The Roseville Police Department put a post about the disappearance of the senior on social media so that community residents may be able to find her.
A group of five young friends got together on hearing the news and they spent the entire evening searching for the missing senior on their bicycles. It appeared as if the incident was straight from a children’s detective novel as the tenacious youngsters ultimately were able to track down the woman.
The ‘junior detectives’ promptly informed the police department about the lady’s location. The surprised police officers of the department were able to connect with the missing lady with the help of the spirited children.
Informing about this incident, the police department later wrote on its Facebook page that it was an example of an exceptional community coming together to lend a helping hand. This also goes on to prove that age is just a number and anyone can help out in the time of need.
The upbeat children with their excellent coordination skills were able to find a helpless missing woman and reunite her with her family. There is no doubt that such ebullient kids are great assets to society.
