Stepping out of the house in this scorching heat feels like a task these days. Ceiling fans have given up to cool us down while the sale of air conditioners have soared. And drinking chilled water is the only way to quench thirst because the temperature is at its peak. But there is someone who is living quite peacefully without electricity.
79-year-old Dr Hema Sane from Pune never felt the requirement of electricity and she has survived without it throughout her life. She prefers not to use any electrical equipment due to her immense love for mother nature.
The former professor lives in a house amid her cat, dog, and mongoose, there are also several birds who keep chirping around her abode. In a conversation with ANI, Hema spoke about how people are not convinced with her way of living as she said: "People call me a fool, I may be insane but it doesn't matter because it's my wicked way of life. I may live as I like."
For Hema, her basic needs are food, clothing, and shelter which has left us wondered why we as humans have become so demanding? Wish we all could have a mindset similar to her’s.
