Thopali Srinivas, 46, works for a reputed multinational company and his job takes him to the gulf countries several times a month. He is very passionate about his job, but at the same time his heart reaches out to his countrymen who are facing difficulties there and he goes the extra mile to help them out.
The workers are sometimes victims of human trafficking, sexual exploitation and financial exploitation by their employers. Srinivas says that he is moved by their plight and finds ways to ease their woes.
Earlier this month at Muscat in Oman, Srinivas noticed Shivaratri Satish near the embassy and asked his problem. This man from Nizamabad had an expired visa, was out of job and did not know how to get back to India. Srinivas immediately wrote to the Indian embassy in Oman which promptly got in touch with him to help.
Similarly, Srinivas brought to the notice of the external affairs ministry, the plight of 17 Indians, who were retrenched by a company in Oman and were struggling without salaries for the past four months. The ministry is taking steps to rescue the workers. He went out of his way a number of times to help such distressed workers.
Srinivas is also the core committee member of BJP IT cell. His motto in life is to help all those in distress.
