Do you know the most visited place in the world? Yes, it is the Golden Temple, the Gurudwara of Amritsar also known as Sri Harmandir Sahib or Darbar Sahib.
The magnificent temple attracts more than 100,000 to 150,000 devotees daily to the holy place. It is always open, 24 hours by 7 days a week.
After visiting the temple, the devotees move towards the langar, where many volunteers are busy preparing food around the clock. The food is served free throughout the year and no one goes empty stomach. The shrine is run by the Sikh community and they believe in equality and oneness. Without any discrimination of caste or religion, the langar is served here. Langar is a free community kitchen where everyone is welcome.
And the good news is the Union Ministry of Culture Harsimrat Kaur Badal has released Rs 57 lakh as GST refund for gurudwaras langars. By paying due respect to the Sikh Community for their selfless noble work, this first instalment of GST will be forwarded to the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee. Hereafter this refund will be given quarterly to the Committee.
Bathinda MP is very thankful to the Prime Minister who has fulfilled his promise by initiating the process of refunding.
The sacred temple runs the world's largest community kitchen offering incredible free meals throughout the year to lakhs of people with love and smile.
