It takes a great deal of courage and bravery to save somebody who is scared half to death. The two sisters Sasmita Giri and Purnima Giri from Bhubaneshwar with their courage were able to save lives of almost 10 people from drowning or being eaten by the crocodiles in the river Mahanadi after their boat capsized.
According to a report by Deccan Chronicle, the two sisters rushed to the location from where the screams of the boat passengers were heard. Though they were aware of the fact that the river was not only deep but it was also full of crocodiles, without thinking much they just jumped into the river to rescue the passengers of the boat. They really tried their best to save the lives of the passengers but felt disappointed as were not able to save all of them as many were jammed under the reversed boat.
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also praised the two girls by giving a statement "They are the real heroes of Odisha and represent the bravery and compassion of young Odisha," said the statement.
