We thought bikes were only meant to ride on the roads but, who knew someday it would be used to climb a tree? Thanks to a farmer from Sajipamooda village in Karnataka for introducing us to his innovation.
The cultivation of Areca nut is diminishing as farmers find it difficult to climb the tree. It is necessary to spray the pesticides during monsoons and harvest at the year-end. However, to keep the plantation going, Ganapathi Bhat has developed an ingenious motorbike which reduces the climbing time to 30 seconds to 1 minute. Wherein it takes 8 minutes to traditionally climb the tree as reported by ANI.
The report also stated that 100 climbs can be made by filling 1-litre of petrol which saves Rs 4,000 in a day. And a person must weight below 80 kgs to use the motorbike. 2.1 BHP motor, two-stroke gearbox, hydraulic drum disc brake, and two chains have been used to develop the bike.
Innovations by people have come a long way. Making the right use of ideas can take our country way ahead and we are extremely happy about the fact that Ganapathi implemented his thoughts amazingly to help several farmers.
