A Nepali veteran who lost both legs in Afghanistan has climbed to the top of Mount Everest, setting a new world record. Hari Budha Magar Jukes made the climb as part of a team of veterans sponsored by a non-profit organization, the Heroes Project. With this climb he became the first double above-knee amputee to summit the world's tallest mountain.
Hari lost his legs, and has since become an accomplished mountaineer, having climbed several other peaks including Mount Kilimanjaro. This latest achievement at the top of the world's tallest mountain is a testament to his strength and resilience.
The Heroes Project is a non-profit organization that supports wounded veterans and first responders by helping them to climb mountains around the world. The organization believes that climbing can help veterans overcome physical and mental challenges and regain a sense of purpose.
Hari's climb to the top of Mount Everest is an inspiring example of the power of determination and perseverance. Despite facing incredible obstacles, he has not let his injuries hold him back, and has instead used his experiences to inspire others.
This incredible achievement serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by the men and women who serve in the armed forces, and the incredible strength and resilience that they possess.
