Currently serving as the village sarpanch of Soda Village in the Tonk district of Rajasthan, Chhavi Rajawat holds an MBA from Pune. She worked for several businesses after completing her graduate studies, including Airtel, Carlson Group of Hotels, and Times of India. Soon after, she realized that she had to act at the local level to improve the lives of those living in communities. She returned to her Rajasthani village and began collaborating closely with the locals to provide for their different basic needs. She worked to provide the populace with better amenities, including solar energy, decent roads, water, restrooms, and a bank.

Her ongoing battle is to give the residents of Soda Village greater amenities. She has helped build over 40 roads and ensured that people always had access to clean drinking water. She has also worked hard to involve the community in the construction of village restrooms. She successfully convinced the soft drink companies to clean up the rivers they had contaminated, leading them to invest Rs 20 lakh in the cleanup efforts. Speaking about the development, she remarked, "In 1800 of the 1900 homes at Soda, bathrooms have been built. The only supply of drinking water in the village, a pond, required a soft drink firm to spend Rs 20 lakh to keep it clean. This was an appropriate and considerate move."

Despite being an elected representative, Chhavi is not affiliated with any political party. She has provided a regular supply of drinking water to her village and facilitated the construction of more than 40 roads “If India continues to make progress at the same pace as it has for the past 65 years since independence, it just won’t be good enough. We’ll be failing people who dream about having water, electricity, toilets, schools, and jobs. I am convinced we can do it differently and do it faster,”  Chhavi said in an interview with NDTV.
