As her children grew older and she found herself with more free time, she decided to pursue her passion for riding motorbikes, even in her forties. The roar of a UM Renegade Commando engine struck a chord deep within her, igniting a sense of adventure and pushing her to explore new horizons.

As a mother and a rider, Shalini embodies the balance between following one's passion and fulfilling family responsibilities. She believes in pursuing dreams while maintaining a sense of duty to her loved ones. 

The Early Days of Riding

Shalini's love for motorcycles didn't start in her 40s, though. She first learned to ride a bike at the age of 10. Despite facing societal stereotypes and discouragement, she remained undeterred and continued to nurture her passion for riding. Even as a homemaker, Shalini found joy in riding her Honda Shine for simple errands like going to the market or dropping her children off at school. These small moments on two wheels kept her passion alive, even if she wasn’t yet fully aware of it.

A New Chapter Begins

It wasn't until Shalini reached her mid-40s that she ventured beyond her local streets in Chandigarh. She began to take her passion more seriously. Her determination and enthusiasm caught the attention of Honda, who collaborated with her, giving her the opportunity to ride all their bikes. This collaboration marked the beginning of a new chapter in her life, allowing her to explore her love for motorcycles on a much larger scale.

For her, it’s not just about hitting the road; it’s about doing so responsibly. Shalini emphasizes the importance of wearing the right safety gear and taking necessary precautions to ensure not just her safety but the safety of others on the road. Her approach serves as a powerful example of how to chase your dreams without compromising on your responsibilities.
