In this era of investing lakhs of money in coaching provided to crack IIT entrance examination, this a small tale of coaching class in Kota which provides free tuition. With free coaching provided by union0government run Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) in Bundi, this class is surely a ray of hope for many IIT aspirants in the desert state Rajasthan. Out of 49 students class XII students who were being taught at the coaching centre, 44 students have successfully cracked the IIT-JEE entrance exam and it has opened their doors for further education in Indian Institute of Technology. This examination is considered as one of the toughest examination to be cracked therefore many shell out lakhs of rupees for its coaching. With the help of Resonance Eduventures Private Limited, a coaching institute of Kota, and Dakshina Foundation, an NGO many students have found their way to the entrance examination.
In the last seven years, more than 260 students of the JNV Bundi have cleared the examination and entered IIT-JEE.
As per a report published in Hindustan Times, Nirmal Rajput (17), son of a mini-truck driver from Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh) and a Class 12 student at JNV Bundi, who cleared the JEE Advanced 2017 with All India Rank (AIR) 327.
Said,“Free schooling, accommodation and meals are provided to students of weaker families at JNV Bundi. Apart from this, free coaching is also offered by a Kota-based coaching institute to help us succeed in JEE
Advanced.”
His father, Dinesh Singh Rajput added, “Qualifying JEE Advanced is a major challenge and when so many aspirants from poor and rural background crack JEE Advanced from a single school then it is certainly a great achievement.”
Another JNV Bundi student Amarpreet Singh (18) said, “We have made it to the IIT due to free coaching, otherwise it is not possible for students like me to crack JEE advanced.” Amarpreet’s father runs a small handloom shop in Karnal (Haryana).
Taking a pride in this moment is JNV Bundi principal Suresh Maheshwari who is no-doubt happy with student’s performances. He said, “Out of the 49 students in Class 12, who were given free coaching, 44 students have cracked JEE Advanced 2017, which is 90% success.”
