At the Emmekere International Swimming Pool, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement as 13-year-old Hadrian Vegas from Mangaluru achieved the unthinkable! In a breathtaking display of skill, Hadrian set a new world record by performing 26 underwater somersaults in just 37 seconds. The remarkable feat was officially recorded by Dr. Krishnamurti, the State Director of Nobel World Records.
Hadrian, a Carmel CBSE School Class 8 student, received support from his coach, Aromal A.S., who was pleased with Hadrian's achievement. "Usually, flips are done while holding the edge of the pool, but Hadrian managed to perform 26 flips consecutively in the middle of the pool, which is a remarkable achievement," Aromal stated. During a summer vacation, Hadrian's potential was initially observed, which resulted in specific training sessions at the pool of Prestige International School and later at Emmekere. Anil Vegas, his father, is a civil contractor, and he attributed his son's accomplishments to Aromal's astute observation and instruction.
