Kids are always very happy and thrilled to visit parks and enjoy playing on swings, slides and running around, playing with friends. However, kids with disabilities are unable to enjoy every game or feature of a park. Just as increased awareness towards an inclusive society spreads, Haryana has now built a park dedicated especially for differently-abled children.
A Unique Park
The Town Park in Panchkula is specially designed for the convenience of disabled kids. The park also has trampolines, roller beds, basket spinner, xylophones, drums, wobbly baskets, slides with various tunnels and mounds for the kids. Speech therapists, physiotherapists and vocational trainers have also been hired to be present in the park and provide assistance to the disabled kids when needed.
CSR initiative
The park has been funded by the Reliance Foundation under its corporate and social responsibility (CSR) initiative. It is built on an area of six acres and at a total cost of Rs 65 lakhs. Almost all equipment and games of the park are designed in such a way that it can be easily used by disabled kids. The safety of the kids has also been taken under consideration.
This park has helped to spread joy among kids and this brilliant idea should certainly be emulated by other states so that more and more differently-abled children are included.
