Roger Federer became the first man to win 20 Grand Slam titles when he defeated Marin Cilic 6-2 6-7(5) 6-3 3-6 6-1 in Australian Open final in Melbourne. He is the only male in the club of 20 or more singles Slam winners. He has 6 Australian Open titles, 1 French Open, 8 Wimbledon and 5 US Open titles to his credit.
Federer also equalled the record of 6 Australian Open wins held by Roy Emerson and Novak Djokovic. For Federer, it was a dream come true. He is the second oldest player ever to win a Slam title and he said that the fairy tale continues.
