Delhi will soon have its first fleet of electric buses. According to sources, Delhi government has planned to procure 200 electric buses and will soon float global tenders. The government plans to expand the fleet after a proper performance check.
The bus depots will be located at East Vinod Nagar and Bawana to park these buses. These locations have been selected keeping the power supply as the major criteria.
The buses will be air-conditioned with a low-floor and will be 12 metres in length. Delhi government has further plans to replace all the CNG running buses to electric ones as they are more eco-friendly.
