This bike lover from Kozhikode has cut all the boundaries and has maintained her passion for bikes. Born and brought up in a conservative Muslim family, Fazeela from Kozhikode is a true motorbike lover, taking to the streets she has also won many bike rallies.
Talking about this unique passion Fazeela who is also a freelance trainer said, “It was very difficult for me. I had to face a lot of discouragement from everyone whenever I talked about my passion for riding a bike. I asked my classmates to help me to learn to ride but no one came forward.”
She added, “And, eventually I learned to ride after one of my uncles supported me.” She believes that it is her passion for bikes that has made it possible to take up this century and it fails to interfere with her faith.
"A few years back we moved to Kochi and bought a TVS Apachi 200 CC," Fazeela said. After some time with the help of her rider friends, she upgraded to professional racing.
It was only after she joined COG racing group and also won her first race in a local event that she decided to take riding seriously. Even while she is one of the women riders in the country she believes that being a women rider is not that easy in this country. As she regularly participates in bike rallies she recently participated in MRF national rally and talking about her passion she said, “At MRF bike rally in Baroda I got the second position and in Indore, I was ranked 3rd. Now I will be participating in rallies in Pune and Nashik.”
