The central railways have decided to introduce 24-hour ambulance service in Pune Railway Station while the decision of opening a medical store is still yet to be taken. A medical emergency can occur without notifying therefore, the availability of basic facilities is necessary. The station does have a medical care unit and the addition of ambulance service is going to be extremely beneficial for the travellers.
Pune station has experienced a lot of changes in the past and as days are passing by, people are expecting to get introduced to more facilities. A lot of people look for convenience while travelling, especially at airports and railway stations.
The Associate Vice President of BVG, India, Gautam Chheda spoke about the importance of an ambulance in a railway station as he told TOI: “We do feel that an ambulance is necessary at the station all the time. If there’s something serious, the ambulance can be available within minutes and the patient can be transferred to the nearest hospital in no time.”
The idea of opening a pharmacy has been taken quite seriously by the officials, so, we hope it gets a green signal too.
Countless people visit Pune Railway Station every single day, thus, this decision taken by the central railways was needed.
