Self trust is the ability to believe in our strengths and the faith that we can overcome any obstacle in life. When we encounter a setback in life, we often tell ourselves to hold on and not to give up. We steel ourselves and know that things will get better as it is in our hands to bring a change. Self-trust is this very act, which enables us to take chances and make relevant decisions, without a flicker of self-doubt.
Here are some ways that will help us to enhance self trust-
Make a trustworthy friend with whom you can talk your troubles away
Pent up worries and tensions harms our health and make us depressed, so one must always give vent to their feeling, and the best way to do so is to speak up. You must open up and talk about your troubles to a trustworthy person who you are sure will not judge you or demean you. Doing so will help to look at the problem from a different perspective and a few words of wisdom and assurance from that person will just blow your worries away and make you a happier and confident person.
Believe in yourself
Always keep a clear mind and clean conscience. You will be able to believe in yourself only if you believe in your worth as a human being. Treat yourself well and consider yourself special. If your biggest fear is low confidence, find ways to build up your self confidence. Remember, God helps those who help themselves, so you must muster the confidence from within. Read self help books or draw inspiration by reading about people who have surpassed similar hurdles in their lives and have stepped out of their shells as confident individuals.
Stop comparing yourself with the whole world
Remember that each person has endured a lot of struggles and hardships to become successful. We may compare ourselves with a successful person and feel low for having underachieved, but we don't realize the sacrifices and difficulties the other person has gone through. Each person has different priorities in life. If a woman gives priority to her little children and family and prefers to stay home and look after her family, she needn't be ashamed about herself or feel inferior to her friend who is holding a high position in a corporate firm and earning a fat salary. One must be proud about the choices one has made in life.
Everyone has their own set of talents and drawbacks, which is what makes them the people they are. You too have your own set of qualities, which sets you apart from the rest.Accept yourself the way you are and you will not be burdened by other people's expectations.
Find your real potential within yourself
Once we begin to develop self esteem, we will gradually unravel the innate qualities inherent in us. We will come to know of our strengths and begin to take up bigger challenges and responsibilities which will help us to evolve into a better and stronger human being. Therefore, our progress is in our hands and we are the ones to decide if we are ready and adequately prepared to take on challenges as and when they present themselves to us.
So lets remember that there is vast potential in all of us and with our self trust and confidence we will definitely be able to realize it.
