"Dream, Dream, Dream! Conduct these dreams into thoughts, and then transform them into action."

It would be wondrous if each and every country starts showing a sense of responsibility towards the environment. Have you ever heard of drain socks? The City of Kwinana, a local government area located in Western Australia is making the most out of them to accumulate waste. All the debris get trapped in the netted sock to keep the waterways free from contamination.
These drain socks were put over the outlet of two local stormwater drains last year which has given amazing results. A deluge of waste got collected in it and the phenomenal idea is now being well received globally. The way the waste is treated is also pretty interesting, it gets processed through a sorting facility first, both recyclable and non-recyclable materials are sorted while the green waste is transformed into mulch.
In an interview with ABC, Carol Adams, the mayor of Kwinana said: "We're still getting up to five telephone enquiries or email enquiries globally a week from Austin, Texas to the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Zambia and New Zealand.” She even added that they have received calls from several European countries such as, Brazil, Chile, Portugal and etc.
The same report also mentioned the commendable initiative by the City of Cockburn, a western Australian council which has used 40,000 single used plastics from supermarkets to make a road. The plastics were melted into asphalt mix and covered a laneway in Port Coogee.
The idea behind it was to derive waste from landfill. Another great effort to rightly treat waste came into the picture when a Perth Council in the City of Canning, used asphalt mix with stubbies of glass beer and plastic bottles to cover a road in a large southern suburb of Perth, Willetton.
The way Australia is treating wastes is truly an inspiration for other countries. Being thoughtful towards the environment can make this world a better place for all of us. The development will eventually start emerging if one such idea strikes each one of us.
