24-year-old Pune athlete is all set to attempt a record to appear in Unique Book of Record, India Book of Record and Asia Book of Record. Supriya Randhir, a sports teacher in Pune will attempt a record on May 1 of passing maximum motor bikes over the stomach.
A die-hard fan of sports, Supriya started taking formal training in Taekwondo from Sangrok Sports Academy under the guidance of Ajay Bhavekar.
Talking about her attempt Supriya said, “I always loved playing any kind of sports and after taking formal training in Taekwondo, I thought of taking this love for sport ahead by imparting knowledge to other youngsters too. While I was mastering the art of Taekwondo, my mentor and teacher Ajay sir motivated me to try this act of motor bikes over stomach.”
“Initially, I had few injuries inside my stomach but after practicing it regularly, I tried doing for longer time and now I am all set to attempt this record,” she further added.
After learning Taekwondo for more than 12 years, now Supriya is Second Dan black belt and also runs her own classes for this sport.
Attempting the record through Sangrok Sports Academy, Supriya is not alone to attempt the record.
While Sangram Bhavekar will also attempt for the same record of passing maximum bikes over stomach in male category, Rajesh Kane is all set to attempt for the record of maximum can crushing in one minute.
Being born in an Army family, her father Mangesh Randhir is an Army employee and encouraged her to pursue her career in sports. Supriya has also bagged many medals in national and state level championship. She is the winner of gold medal for Taekwondo National Level championship and also gold medal in speed ball for national and state level.
Talking about this attempt Supriya said, “I have been practicing continuously for this record for more than a year now. I have also made required changes in the diet to achieve this goal. It is dream of my mentor to see me succeed at this record and I will give my hundred per cent to achieve it.”
