Sandeep Dahiya, a director at an MNC in Bengaluru has designed an air-conditioned helmet which will enable people to easily adhere to the city’s strict traffic rules.
For people who dislike wearing helmets as they are cumbersome and do not allow air circulation, the air cooler helmets would be a welcome choice.
Dahiya himself is a rider and experienced great discomfort when he put the helmet’s visor down as it sometimes led to suffocation. He had noticed that many times two-wheeler riders take out their helmet and put them on the fuel tank while waiting in traffic. This prompted him to devise an air conditioning helmet which is safe and user-friendly.
The helmet named as Vatankul works on DC power of 12 volts, which is supplied through the bike battery. Dahiya developed eight prototypes for four and a half years and finally was able to arrive at this perfect model. The helmet which is divided into two parts has rubber tubes for air circulation which are inside the helmet and another component comprises of heat exchanger, control and blower unit.
Dahiya has been using this helmet for one month, much to the curiosity of onlookers. Let us hope that the air cooler helmets hit the market soon.
