As Maruti Suzuki declares the result of survey for Indian Road Safety Mission, Mumbai tops as the best city for traffic rules.
While Mumbai boasts for many different things, now there is an added reason. Mumbai is believed to be the best city when it comes to pedestrian rights, motor laws and traffic control and ease of use for differently-abled commuters.
The union transport minister Nitin Gadkari announced the results of a survey, Indian Road Safety Mission, undertaken by Maruti Suzuki. This road safety index will make sure that the results will prove beneficial as a reference point for the administrative authorities to improve on the services which they lack.
Eight cities were a part of the survey that includes Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Pune.
Delhi has kept its position in this survey for its connectivity, road quality and road infrastructure.
While for road lighting and maintenance, Kolkata was ranked as a winner and Chennai was ranked for its spot-on emergency services. For safety parameters Bangalore was declared on of the best cities.
The main aim of this survey was to inculcate safe driving skills among the drivers in the city. Taking into consideration that all these cities have the busiest roads it is important for all these cities to take road safety seriously and make desired changes when it comes to roads.
