Jagdeesh Pillai is on a record making spree. The former employee of Benarus Hindu University brought a Diwali gift to Varanasi city in the form of a Guinness Record. Based on the theme ‘Make in India’, he created the largest envelope with waste paper. It is his fourth successful entry in the Guinness Book of World Records.

A function was held on Thursday to felicitate Pillai. The district magistrate Yogeshwar Ram Mishra released the certificate at the function. Pillai created the envelope of 25-mt (83.80 feet) in length and 14.40-mt (47-23 feet) in width using the waste paper from the industrial estate.

This was his second attempt in making the envelope. He made the initial attempt on June 21, 2016, on Yoga day, but unfortunately, because of breaking some rules of Guinness authorities while attempting the record, it was disqualified that time. He finally made it in his second attempt.

Pillai is the holder of four successful Guinness Records. His first record was associated with the digital India theme. He made an animation movie within the shortest time by breaking a Canadian's record in November 2012. His second record was on the largest photo awareness campaign "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao". He broke a Chinese record by creating the longest line of postcards to spread awareness about Indian Flag in June 2017.

Pillai is the only person who holds a Guinness World Record entry from Varanasi. He aims to make more records and said that his next record will be based on the subject of 'Namami Gange' and 'Swachh Bharat.
