A very good and effective mobile application for ‘108 Emergency’ ambulance services was launched by Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani in Gandhinagar on Monday. The app enables the user to know the details regarding distance, time and route of the arrival of the ambulance.
The CM informed that the app can be downloaded by smartphone users from the Play Store by writing '108 Gujarat'. After downloading the app which is free of cost, the user has to get registered by filling some basic personal information. This makes it possible for the emergency response centre to trace the location of the caller. Thus valuable time is not lost in exchanging information.
This is an important app that can save many lives. Besides providing information about the medical facilities available at the nearest place, it also displays the discomfort of the patient and his/her medical history.
CM Rupani saw the live demonstration of the application and was satisfied with it. Describing the service as the lifeline of the people, he said that currently, there are as many as 585 ambulances for '108-Emergency' services which cover 196,000 sq km, and is providing its services to 6 crore people of the state.
