'People First', an app launched by the Andhra Pradesh government on Thursday will empower citizens with real-time governance. Citizens will be able to access their profile, the various benefits accrued to them from the government and also register their grievances.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu launched the app at a two-day conference held in Amravati. The app 'People First' is currently available only on Android-based mobile phones. It acts as a two-way communication channel between the government and the citizens.
It enables government to get feedback from the people regarding various schemes. At the same time, people can call toll free number 1100 to register complaints related to the administration, including corruption.
The app enables the user to log in with the help of Aadhar card number and gain access to registered family data as well as download e-certificates like caste, residence, income, birth and death, etc. They can also check details of various government schemes like PDS, pensions, insurance and housing.
Real-Time Governance CEO Babu Ahamed said that the app contains village profile, the list of community assets and new updates relating to the government.
There are plans to release an iOS version of the app
