Taking a step ahead to reduce the pollution in the city, over sixty societies in Mumbai have installed solar power plants on their rooftops which generates electricity. With this, Mumbai has taken a step forward to generate power in a green way. Apart from this, 400 other establishments from the state have also taken the same step to generate green energy.
Mumbai generates around 1,400 units of green power a day and the same number in the state goes to 11,500 units.
This move has surely given a sigh of relief for Mumbaikars by reducing the pollution.
As per the report published in The Times of India, the quantity of green power generated everyday is equal to plant 1.75 lakh trees. Usually the power is generated by using coal which is in itself a source of pollution.
Taking the cue from these establishments in Mumbai and state there will be 150 more consumers in Mumbai and in state 1,600 establishments, who are planning to set up the same which will avoid pollution by generating electricity unit through coal.
Apart from the pollution, this system also makes the consumers a profit in the bill.
