New cases of cancer get detected almost every day and researchers say that the rate of the disease will escalate in the coming years. It becomes a matter of concern for a woman when a lump occurs on her breast as it is an indication of breast cancer. Technologies that are used to diagnose the deadly disease are way advanced today and so are the treatments.
However, did you know of a tool that can forecast a woman’s future risk of breast cancer? Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) researchers have come up with such a tool equipped with Artificial Intelligence.
To create the model, at first, the researchers studied the mammograms of the patients who were admitted at the Massachusetts General. Over 60,000 patients’ x-rays were used through which they identified the women who got breast cancer within 5 years of screening.
The newly developed tool can help save a lot of them from the deadly disease and can also result in cost-effective treatments.
