The Saint Petersburg-Murmansk train introduced a new route to help a 14 year old reach school. The train previously stopped at the Poyakonda which is a rural locality in Kandalakshsky District of Murmansk Oblast, Russia only to pick up the railway staff and for technical issues.
Karina and her grandmother boarded the train at the same time as the railway staff and had to wait hours for their return journey. According to news reports, Karina's village can only be reached by the 10km forest road, hence sending a school bus to pick up the school kid is also impossible.
This step to introduce a new stop by the railways will help the little children who had to wait long hours before reaching home. Poyakonda is said to have only 50 residents.
"Every morning, I waited for the children by the village kiosk, then we walked 1km (0.6 miles) to the Poyakonda station," Ms Kozlova tells Gudok newspaper.
