Impossible is nothing — we have heard this many times, but women like Padmini Jog make this phrase alive.
Padmini Jog is an army wife of Late. Lt Col Pratap Jog, an officer in the Indian Army. She is 78 years old, but her energy and passion for fitness will overpower everyone in their 20s.
Padmini Jog is a renowned yoga instructor who has made significant contributions to the world of yoga. She is best known for her work with the Indian Army, where she taught the ancient practices of yoga and pranayama (breathing techniques) to our soldiers. For this, she traveled all the way up to the border areas of Jammu & Kashmir, nearly at 12,300 ft above sea level.
Before her husband’s death, the couple used to travel the whole of India together, organizing yoga camps for civilians, schools, colleges, old age homes, the Rotary, and senior citizens— all free of cost. Padmini decided to continue the noble work and has gained the honor of training our Army, Navy, and Air Force.
This is what we call an eternal love story!
She says, “My father-in-law regularly practiced yoga, and watching him, my husband would do so too. I was busy looking after my family. However, after his retirement in 1983, we attended a Yoga Abhyasi Camp in Nagpur, passed the relevant exams, and began teaching others.”
Through her work with the army, Jog has helped countless jawans improve their physical and mental well-being. Her work has been widely recognized and she has received numerous awards and accolades for her contributions to the world of yoga.
She continues to teach and inspire students around the world, sharing her passion for the ancient practice and helping others to realize the many benefits of yoga and pranayama.
