The sight of greenery makes all of us jovial but, how would you react if you ever get up on a bus that looks like a garden? Narayanappa, a BMTC (Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation) bus driver is generating awareness among people to keep our environment intact. He has kept almost 20 plants on his bus and makes sure to water them every day.
Narayanappa’s passengers call his vehicle the ‘Garden Bus’. They not only appreciate it but, also give him advice on how to maintain the plants. Some of them have even given him a few pots.
On talking about how he wants his passengers to feel once they get up on his vehicle, the 59-year-old bus driver told The News Minute: “The idea is to relieve people of their tension and stress when they enter the bus.”
Narayanappa along with his conductor, Nethravathi takes good care of the plants and makes the journey a joy ride for their passengers. His bus might not have looked like a mini garden if the passengers wouldn’t have supported him.
Imagine how wonderful this world will turn out to be if everyone understands the importance of greenery. We hope people take Narayannapa’s initiative as an inspiration.
