The Women And Child Development Minister Kavita Jain made an announcement on Friday.According to her statement, Haryana will soon have 375 Anganwadi centres.
Anganwadi is a type of rural mother and child care centre in India. They were started by the Indian government in 1975 as part of the Integrated Child Development Service program to combat child hunger and malnutrition. Anganwadi means "courtyard shelter" in Indian languages.
According to the Ministry, Rs.9.95 lakh will be spent in building these centres. 5lakh will be given by MNGREGA funds and the remaining 4lakh from the department.
The construction of anganwadi centres would be undertaken by the Panchayati Raj Department, Jain concluded.
